Delpozo partners with Chalhoub Group for Middle East expansion

Spanish designer brand Delpozo, owned by Perfumes y Diseño, is set to expand its business in the Middle East thanks to a new partnership deal with Dubai-based Chalhoub Group, which will become the exclusive representative for the brand in the region from the Spring/Summer 2019 season.

“The Middle East region is a very important market for us,” said Pedro Trolez, president and owner of Group Perfumes y Diseño about the geographic expansion in conjunction with a luxury specialist with experience in the region and its target consumer. “We will help Delpozo choose the right positioning for its expansion in the region,” added Mansour Hajjar, chief operating officer fashion of the Chalhoub Group.

The brand, founded in 1974 by Jesus del Pozo and relaunched in 2012 with Josep Font at the helm of the creative team, has made international expansion an important part of its growth strategy. Whilst the US market has been the main priority, the brand decided to distance itself slightly by leaving New York Fashion Week for London last September. Additionally, London is home to one of Delpozo’s flagship stores, located on Sloane Street.

Meanwhile in March, Delpozo opened its first store in Dubai in the Fashion Avenue within Dubai Mall. This step was taken in partnership with Symphony Style, a company controlled by entrepreneur Salama Alabbar.

Currently, the high-end fashion brand has a presence in more than 80 stores worldwide and operates three flagship stores in London, Dubai and Madrid.

Other creative projects include the development of its footwear and accessories collections following the signing of a license agreement with Italian showroom Massimo Bonini. And a new perfume, supported by the Grupo Perfumes y Diseño, is coming soon, Josep Font told FashionNetwork.com earlier this year.
