Dr. Lancer skincare brand "stands by Ryan Seacrest" despite assault allegations

As sexual misconduct allegations against the television host continue to unfold, the LA-based skincare line with which he collaborates has expressed its support for him in a statement.

Polished for Men is "standing by" Ryan Seacrest - Lancer Skin Care

Seacrest launched the Polished skincare line in partnership with Beverly Hills-based professional skincare expert Dr. Harold Lancer. The line offers men's skincare ranging in price from $10 to $55.

Asked by the Hollywood Reporter whether the brand would continue its collaboration with Seacrest, Dr. Lancer said that "We stand by him and are looking forward to our future brand plans.”

Lancer's support could be a risky endorsement in the current marketplace. As conscious consumerism gains traction through social media movements including Me Too and Times Up, consumers have turned away from brands even tangentially associated with sexual assault, such as Marchesa which has suffered because of its links to co-founder Georgina Chapman's husband Harvey Weinstein.

Seacrest was accused of sexual misconduct by his former stylist. He was later cleared of the alleged offenses in third party investigations carried out by the parent company of the channels his shows broadcast on.

The claims resurfaced again this month after an anonymous source reportedly backed up the story and told an NBC news reporter that the stylist's claims are true. The source requested anonymity out of fear of workplace retribution.

Seacrest also founded an apparel label four years ago called the Ryan Seacrest Distinction (RSD) which offers an assortment of suits and lifestyle menswear priced from $50 to $500. RSD is sold exclusively at Macy's. The retailer is still selling the collection and does not appear to have made any adjustments in the wake of the recent allegations.

Consumer and fan response on social media has poured out in support of Seacrest. Comments on his Instagram @SeacrestStyle include "You’ve gone through the legal process to prove yr innocence. I believe you" and subsequent comments in agreement.

While some celebrities were reportedly instructed to avoid giving interviews to Seacrest on the red carpet at the Oscars earlier this month, the television host continues to deny the allegations.

In a statement he said, "I don’t want to accuse anyone of not telling the truth but in this case, I have no choice but to again deny the claims against me, remind people that I was recused of any wrongdoing, and put the matter to rest."

As of now it appears both RSD and Polished by Dr. Lancer and Ryan Seacrest are healthy in the eyes of the consumer and are forging ahead.
