Ettinger opens accessories room in Gieves & Hawkes, more joint projects coming?

Luxury accessories brand Ettinger has expanded its retail partnership with upscale menswear specialist Gieves & Hawkes and has opened the Ettinger Accessories Room at No 1 Savile Row in London.

The opening offers the “most extensive choice of Ettinger accessories and bags in a London retailer,” we’re told.

The company’s top-selling items were launched into the Gieves & Hawkes flagship for the first time a year ago and the last 12 months has clearly seen some success given the current expansion. 

The two labels certainly seem to work well together and have plenty of synergies, both being Royal Warrant holders and successful heritage brands. Eighty-five-year-old Ettinger gained its Royal Warrant from the Prince of Wales in 1996.

The new space means it can now show a far wider range of accessories and bags from its extensive portfolio and signature collections. This includes its best-selling Bridle Hide Collection, Sterling, Capra and Lifestyle Collections, as well as its leather business bags, portfolios, canvas and leather overnight and weekend bags, and totes.

The new room is located in the middle of the store and there’s also a Craftmanship and Archive Display for customers to learn more about how the products are made at its factory in the Midlands.

There will be an Ettinger in-store 'Personalisation Day' on November 22 too, when customers can request and watch as complimentary initials are added by an Ettinger specialist to any (flat) leather items bought in the shop that day.

Gieves & Hawkes MD Nick Keyte said the two labels “share many values, the most important of which is a deep-rooted passion and support for craftmanship — the beating heart of British Luxury goods. Ettinger was the obvious choice in our pursuit of a world-class, accessories partner manufacturing in the UK.”

And it look like there could be more developments to come with Keyte adding that: “We are delighted to be hosting Ettinger in residence at our flagship store and look forward to developing our partnership further both in the UK and Internationally.”

Ettinger has been making a speciality of expanding via only the highest-end partners in destination cities with the company also recently opening a space in Turnbull & Asser’s luxe NYC Townhouse.
