Euphoria latest episode drives tops boom, show is fashion & beauty's biggest influencer

Published

Euphoria is currently the most influential TV show when it comes to make-up looks and fashion choices, analysis of Google search data by UK firm Uswitch has shown.

And it can clearly shift fashion items as the latest episode drove searches for specific tops much higher, according to data from Lovethesales.com.

The sales aggregator site said the airing of the most recent episode drove searches for Charcoal T-Shirts up 566% in 24 hours and for Blue Fishnet Tops up 388%. Blue Polo Tops searches rose 272% and Pink Hoodies were up 138%.

Meanwhile, demand for Tiger-Striped Tops exactly doubled and for Peter Pan Collars they rose almost as much at 98%. But it wasn’t all about tops, and Converse Trainers saw a more modest (but still impressive) 24% spike.

Back with the Uswitch data, it said Euphoria is key for fashion inspiration specifically with 519,500 annual searches, followed by Peaky Blinders at 513,300, Emily in Paris on 265,100, Friends on 142,900 and Stranger Things on 111,500 annual searches.

For make-up, Euphoria sees 824,000 annual searches, Friends gets 513,300, WandaVision 39,500, Bridgerton 13,170, and Stranger Things 11,490.

The company said that Euphoria’s dramatic make-up looks “featuring bold colours, dramatic liner and face jewels have once again taken social media by storm after the release of the second series”.

Given Euphoria’s top spot for both fashion and beauty, the analysis also said that the individual characters that are most inspirational are Maddy (221,000 combined annual searches), followed by Cassie (153,370), Rue (138,700), Jules (93,000), and Kat (49,260).

Maddy is also the only Euphoria character to rank in the top 10 most inspirational TV characters of all time for fashion and make-up looks, ranking ninth for fashion and fourth for beauty.
