Firmenich opens new fragrance factory

Firmenich has opened a new fragrance factory in Meyrin, Switzerland. The new, 27,000-m2 facility is the largest of the 28 factories operated by Firmenich worldwide, and now accounts for 25% of the Swiss perfume and flavour manufacturer's global fragrance output. It is an eco-responsible facility, allowing to reduce water consumption by 30% and energy consumption by 20%.

"This investment, at over CHF60 million (€55.5 million), is the most significant one made by Firmenich in the last ten years," stated the group's President, Patrick Firmenich.

For the 2015-16 fiscal year, closed on 30th June, Firmenich recorded a revenue of CHF3.2 billion (€2.9 billion), equivalent to a 6.3% rise.
