Former LVMH Chairman, Pauline Brown joins Harvard faculty

Published
Feb 24, 2016

Pauline L. Brown, the former LVMH Chairman for North America, has joined the faculty of Harvard Business School. Brown is designing a new course for second-year MBA students, called “The Business of Aesthetics.”

Pauline Brown

The executive parted ways with LVMH in the end of 2015 to pursue other opportunities. She joined the company in 2012 and provided regional leadership for as many as 70 brands in fashion and leather goods, perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewelry, wines and spirits and selective retailing. Prior to LVMH, Brown served at The Carlyle Group, Avon, The Estée Lauder Companies and Bain & Company. She also sat on the board of L Capital, a private equity fund backed by LVMH.

Since 2008, Brown has been a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and in 2013, she joined the Board of the Henry Crown Fellowship Program. Brown also received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, a B.A. from Dartmouth College and is a member of the Executive Alumni Councils of both schools.

The Business of Aesthetics course is a new course for second-year MBA students that are considering careers in sectors and companies whose long-term financial value is built on their ability to deliver aesthetic value. The class is set to begin next month.
