Gabriela Hearst launches a Yemen campaign for Save The Children

Gabriela Hearst has teamed up with the charity Save The Children to help raise funds for children living in war-torn Yemen.

The Uruguayan designer is donating 100% of the net proceeds from her eponymous luxury label's in-store and online sales to the non-profit, from December 2 through December 9.

"This crisis has fallen out of the media but is still very present and STC is one of the few and largest NGOs that at high risk is allowed to operate in Yemen," the brand wrote on Instagram, sharing images taken in Yemen in 2012. "I have been fortunate enough to see STC in action in the field. It is extraordinary the work they do for children in remote places, conflict torn with broken infrastructures or none at all. Real-life hero and heroines," Hearst affirmed.

"We're trying to give until it hurts us a little," Hearst told British Vogue, which reports that she is also making her cult, made-to-order handbags available to shop online during the campaign. "We're not thinking about it from a fashion point of view, it's a human concern. I'm just happy we have a platform we can use to do something that we care about."

This is not the first time Hearst has worked with Save The Children -- in September it was announced that she had partnered with the luxury retailer Mytheresa to create an 18-piece ‘Mytheresa woman' collection, with 20% of the sales proceeds being directed towards the non-profit organization.
