Global Fashion Group's The Iconic names Erica Berchtold as new CEO

Australian online retailer The Iconic has named Erica Berchtold as the company's new CEO. Beginning in February 2019, she will replace current CEO Patrick Schmidt who has been in the role since 2013. 

With nearly 20 years of retail experience, Berchtold most recently served as managing director of the sports division for Super Retail Group, holding the position for seven years. In addition, she has also held senior managerial roles at Specialty Fashion Group, Rebel Sport and Harvey Norman. 

Schmidt, who will become chairman of the company on his departure, took on the role of co-CEO at The Iconic's parent company Global Fashion Group in February of this year.

Prior to joining the company, Schmidt held an executive role at Groupon, in addition to serving as director and member of the board at the National Online Retailers Association.

“I am absolutely honored to be joining The Iconic, the most dynamic, fastest growing fashion retailer across Australia and New Zealand," Berchtold said. Since its launch in 2011, The Iconic's mobile app has become Australia's most downloaded fashion app, offering over 1,000 local and international brands and attracting approximately 12 million visits per month.

Schmidt will continue to hold the position of CEO until Berchtold assumes her position.
