Guess arrives in Bolivia with 2,476-square-foot store

Guess is entering the Bolivian market through Chilean holding company Rambrands, the brand's representative in Uruguay, Peru, Chile and Argentina. The LA, California-based brand will arrive in the country with a store in Ventura Mall, in Bolivia's commercial center, Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

Guess' first store in the country, which is slated to opens its doors this April, occupies an area of 230 square meters (2,475.7 square feet) on the first floor of Ventura Mall. Here, the brand will rub shoulders with labels such as Totto, Perry Ellis, Tous, MAC Cosmetics, Adidas, Mango, Nautica and Tommy Hilfiger, to name but a few. 

For its part, Rambrands continues to expand its coverage in the region, where it aims to open at least four new locations this year: three in Chile and one in Peru. As well as Guess, the Chilean holding company also represents high-end Argentinian brand Etiqueta Negra and Diesel in the Southern Cone. 

Bolivian retail is currently experiencing a period of expansion, reflected in the arrival en masse of international brands to the market. According to Euromonitor, the country's retail sector achieved 7.3 billion dollars in sales in 2017 and hopes to hit 8 billion dollars before 2020. 

Guess' latest quarterly results were better than predicted thanks to growth in Europe and Asia. The company reported net income of 792.2 million dollars in the first three months of 2018, a 17.2% increase compared to the same period in 2017.
