Puig, who has a wealth of experience in the fashion and sports industry, will be tasked with driving a new strategic plan that will aim to position Hawkers as an international fashion brand in the eyewear sector.

The company said the CEO appointment comes as a result of of a business review carried out by Experience Group, a partner company of the eyewear firm which is also led by Nacho Puig.

The next few months will see Hawkers undertake a series of measures such as streamlining its structure, improving its online business, defining its offline business model and expanding internationally.

Alongside Experience Group, the eyewear company has kicked off a rigorous expansion plan with the aim of strengthening its retail business under its brand positioning strategy.

Along these lines, the company will position itself as an international fashion firm, building on its successful business model of offering “the best possible quality at the best price and for everybody”.

The company will start an international expansion by opening flagship stores and locations in the world’s leading cities, as well as opting for an omnichannel approach.

The new CEO of Grupo Hawkers, Nacho Puig, said the new brand positioning “as an international fashion firm is a natural step for a company that faces the great challenge of understanding the evolution of the consumer.”

Commented about the partnership with Experience Group, Puig said: “The collaboration between both companies is a win-win situation that will provide more value, synergies and resource optimisation.”

Hawkers has 200 employees and offices in Barcelona, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Los Angeles and Elche. It also operates more than 45 physical stores.
