The International Fashion and Photography Festival at Hyères, France, has issued its call for applications despite the fact that a fire broke out on the night of 17th October in the building, usually reserved for designers, adjoining the Villa Noailles, the festival venue.

Young designers have until 25th November to register for the festival’s competition, and then until 2nd December to submit their material, in order to be selected for the festival's forthcoming edition, scheduled from 27th April to 1st May 2017.

Until now, the competition was exclusively reserved to fashion designers and photographers, but it is now open to accessories designers too. They can enter by presenting hats, sunglasses, jewellery, handbags and footwear creations. Each designer is required to produce seven items, preferably ones that were never show before.

The ten finalists to be selected in the accessories category will benefit from support by Swarovski, which will offer its traditional crystals, and by Première Vision, which will welcome the designers to its trade shows and give them access to the exhibitors' fabrics and accessories.

As for the photography competition, the accessories will be showcased during the festival, and will be featured in a video shown at the start of the fashion shows.
