ITE (Moda UK) launches a lingerie tradeshow in Moscow

Another lingerie tradeshow is soon to see the light of day. In concurrence with French, American and British equivalents, Russia has decided to step into the world of lingerie tradeshows. For Moda Lingerie, however, which next takes place in Birmingham in February, there is no threat of real competition because the two shows share the same organizer. The ITE group will be organizing the first edition of Lingerie Expo which will be held from 5 to 8 February at Crocus Expo Centre in Moscow.

The first edition of Lingerie Expo has already announced that over 100 brands will be present at the show, predominantly Russian but also some European brands thanks to a partnership with JS Company, who distributes various lingerie brands in Russia.

Notable brands in attendance are Americans Felina and Baci Lingerie, Romanian brand Jolidon and even the French Isotoner, who specialize in footwear for the home. The show will include an array of events, including conferences, catwalks and a trend forum held by Carlin International.

For the organizers, Russia is a market in the height of expansion with the market being worth 5 billion euros and yearly growth rate of 10% according to their experts. With half of Russia’s lingerie consumption supposedly coming from Moscow, the organizers made a wise decision to set up shop in the country’s economic capital. Exhibition director Vadim Efremenkov says that the Russian lingerie market has seen strong growth over the past years. “We hope that Linger Expo will encourage international brands to come to Russia,” he said.

Based in London but focusing the majority of its activity in the East, the ITE group operates in many industrial sectors including fashion with Moda UK and British masculine fashion event, Jacket Required, which it acquired this summer.
