Interfilière New York reports bigger attendance for fourth show

Published
Oct 5, 2016

Interfilière New York, the intimates, swimwear and activewear platform from Eurovet, held its fourth and largest show in September. This season was hosted in collaboration with Concepts Paris and Invista.

Interfilière New York was held at The Tunnel in Chelsea in September

The fourth edition took place at The Tunnel in Chelsea and included interactive seminars, the Opulent Livingwear pop-up store from New York-based designer Tina Wilson, the Bikini Exposition and the Creative Trend Lab in partnership with Concepts Paris.

The pop up was inspired by British television series Downton Abbey and featured sleepwear and loungewear that reflected the show’s Art Nouveau costumes. The pieces were available for all show attendees. The Bikini Exposition, which was sponsored by Coco Reef and Mondo Mannequins, celebrated the bikini’s 70th anniversary. Ghislaine Rayer, world-famous swimwear collector and co-writer of the book “Bikini, The Legend,” curated the exposition and featured the looks on mannequins.

Finally, the Creative Trend Lab held live trend presentations including a “what not to miss” global trend overview with six trends selected for New York. The Lab focused on materials and colors inspired by the trends of the upcoming season.

Interfilière reported a 30% increase in visitors compared to 2015, and an overall favorable response from exhibitors (97% of the exhibitors were pleased with the show). Some of the top visiting brands and retailers from this season included Macy’s, Target, Victoria’s Secret and L Brands, Lululemon, Aerie/American Eagle, Anthropologie, Calvin Klein, Mara Hoffman, Onia, Spanx, Fila, and Adore Me, which recently launched its first activewear line.

Interfilière will hold its next show in Shanghai on October 12 and kicks off its next season in Paris on January 21, 2017.
