Italian fashion academies meet in Milan

After last year's success, the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI, the Italian fashion chamber) is doing it again. This year it doubles the stakes with the second edition of 'Milano Moda Graduate', to be held not over one but two days, on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th June.

The event is organised in partnership with Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda, the association of Italian fashion academies. The event's objective is to showcase young Italian creativity and to stimulate academies, while putting emerging Italian design talent in touch with fashion labels and companies.

"There is no Italian academy in the ranking of the world's top five schools, and there are only two in the top ten. We must showcase our expertise more effectively," said CNMI President Carlo Capasa.

The second edition of 'Milano Moda Graduate' will take place in Milan, at the Base Milano venue in Via Bergognone 34, located in the Via Tortona area. The two days' event will bring together more than 240 students, and will feature 12 shows, a permanent presentation of accessories and clothing and 4 talks.

This year, there will be a special focus on leather thanks to the collaboration with Lineapelle, the trade show specialising in leather, with which the CNMI will also organise a young designers' competition within the main event.

The 'Milano Moda Graduate 2016 Final Show' will select about ten students among those from the academies featured at the event, and will be held on Wednesday evening. At the end of it, a jury will award a prize to the best student. The award ceremony will be followed by a big party.
