Jake Gyllenhaal is the Prada fragrance new campaign star

Academy Award and Tony nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal has landed himself a new role, as the face of Prada’s new men's fragrance. 

Launching worldwide from August 3, the campaign will take the form of a short film directed by Johan Renck, and will include advertisements shot by photographer Sølve Sundsbø.

The new men's fragrance itself is described as a balance between strength and virility, elegance and sensuality, and sophistication and self-awareness.

"With a combination of physical and intellectual strength, Jake is a modern adventurer - the perfect embodiment of Prada's new masculine fragrance. His unique acting work elevates the limits of emotion, while the visionary projects he produces focus on bold new horizons of storytelling,” explained Yann Andrea, Prada beauty international general manager. 

Gyllenhaal has starred in over sixty feature films including classics like Brokeback Mountain, Nightcrawler, Donnie Darko, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and many more. He has equally done stage work on Broadway and is a producer of note with his company Nine Stories.

On top of film, he is also no stranger to high-profile fashion collaborations previously starring in campaigns with Cartier, Calvin Klein, and more. 

Most recently, Gyllenhaal re-teamed with director Antoine Fuqua to star in The Guilty for Netflix, which Nine Stories also produced. The film will be release Fall 2021.
