Japan's Descente to open London store

This November will see Japanese sportswear brand Descente enter the European market for the first time. The label will open a new store at 14-16 Foubert's Place, London.

The sizeable store will total 7,540 sqft., set over three floors.It will have two entrances, and each floor will have a different theme.

This is just the beginning of Descente's European expansion - the label intends to open 3-5 European stores in total. Descente was founded in Osaka in 1935, and pioneered the development and manufacturing of high performance technical fabric for active sportswear.

“We are really excited that Descente have selected Carnaby as the retail destination for their first store in Europe, the diverse sport and active wear brand has been selected to complement the existing retail mix including adidas Originals and Pro-Direct.” says Simon Quayle, Director at real estate company Shaftesbury that looks after Carnaby.
