Jo Malone in Singapore

It’s in the shopping centre Takashimaya, one of Singapore’s most popular shopping destinations, that the English cosmetics brand Jo Malone has chosen to reside : a cosy shop-in-a-shop which is part of the Asia-Pacific expansion plan presented last trimester.

Effectively, Estée Lauder – owner of the brand – has signed an agreement with the group Lane Crawford Joyce for the exclusive distribution of Jo Malone products in seven regions: Hong Kong, which has already opened its first sales outlet for the brand last July, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Macau, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Difficult circumstances or not the brand has undertaken its programme of expansion. And its last press release stated that in years to come the brand hoped to have “a combination of independent points of sale and boutiques within large shops open across the region (Asia-Pacific).”

The new space has modeled itself on its elder in Hong Kong. 40 square metres which represent the spirit of the ‘mother’ store on Sloane Street in London and also provide a “Tasting Bar”. Founded in 1994 in the British capital, Jo Malone has since diversified. Bath and body products and household products have joined the collection of perfumes, the sector in which its reputation was created.
