Lanvin Japan, which manages the Lanvin flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo, and runs services including PR for the luxury brand in Japan, will be dissolved on August 15, according to Japanese media reports. As a result, the flagship is scheduled to close down at the end of July.

The decision to close down Lanvin Japan was made by the business’ headquarters in Paris, France.

Coronet Corporation will continue to be responsible for Lanvin’s wholesale sales in Japan. Coronet runs wholesale distribution for a number of international fashion brands in Japan including Milly, Nina Ricci, Karen Walker, Scotch & Soda, and Sabella. Established in June 2003, Coronet retails its brands, including Lanvin, at 40 percent department stores and 60 percent speciality stores.

Lanvin, founded in Paris in 1889, was acquired by the Chinese investment firm Fosun International Limited’s Fosun Fashion Group last year. The deal saw Fosun become the majority shareholder and previous shareholders retained a minority stake in the business. The acquisition deal was intended to allow Lanvin to leverage Fosun’s global resources and Lanvin also adds a luxury asset to Fosun’s fashion business.

French designer Bruno Sialelli is the current creative director of Lanvin’s men’s and womenswear lines. Sialelli joined the brand from Loewe at the start of the year and also has experience at Balenciaga and Paco Rabanne
