Lopez and Gandy star in latest eyewear campaign for Dolce & Gabbana

Luxottica is pulling out all the stops to promote its latest DG Eyewear collection under its deal with Dolce & Gabbana. It has enlisted Jennifer Lopez and Brit model David Gandy to front the high-profile imagery.

DG Eyewear

Shot by London-based photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the company said that the “two very special stars perfectly embody the world of Dolce & Gabbana, captured in photographs that cross the boundaries of time to universally express an unmistakable style”.

It added that the images combine “modernity and tradition” and “celebrate beauty, which has always been a fundamental value for Dolce & Gabbana”.

The campaign comes at a crucial time for the eyewear industry as the global loosening or ending of pandemic restrictions means more people are likely to go on sunshine holidays this year than were able to in 2020 and 2021. That means new sunglasses are likely to be on their shopping lists and a campaign with such famous faces could be crucial.

Gandy is well know as an existing face of the Dolce & Gabbana brand while Lopez is more in the public eye than ever at present so the two are likely to make an impact on the public consciousness.

The products are available via a number of retailers, including Dolce & Gabbana itself and Luxottica's Sunglass Hut operation.
