Lululemon names new executives

Published
Nov 2, 2020

Athleticwear company Lululemon Athletica Inc. is adding to its leadership team, naming Adidas executive André Maestrini as executive vice president, international; Stacia Jones as vice president, global head of inclusion, diversity, equity and action (IDEA); and promoting Celeste Burgoyne to be the first executive to serve at the president level in her role leading the Americas and Global Guest Innovation teams.

In his role, Maestrini will lead the company’s international expansion. Prior to joining Lululemon Athletica, he worked with Adidas for over 13 years, most recently serving as global general manager of Adidas Sport BUs. In prior years, he has also held the roles of global general manager of running BU; senior vice president, managing director of Latin America Adidas Group; and managing director of France.

Prior to his time with Adidas, Maestrini also served as marketing director of North West Europe for The Coca-Cola Company.

In her role, Jones will work directly with the IDEA senior leadership team steering committee, and will report to Susan Gelinas, Lululemon’s senior vice president of people and culture. Previously, she worked with Abercrombie & Fitch Co. for 11 years, serving in multiple roles including global vice president, associate general counsel and chief diversity and inclusion officer; global senior director and legal counsel; and director and legal counsel, international and domestic, among others.

Over the course of her career, Jones has also served as partner, associate general counsel, global workplace investigations in compliance and ethics with Microsoft.

Burgoyne has been with Lululemon for 14 years, most recently serving as executive vice president, Americas and global guest innovation. Previously, she has also worked at Abercrombie & Fitch, where she served as senior director of stores.

Burgoyne and Maestrini will both report to CEO, Calvin McDonald

“I am excited to announce these senior leadership appointments, which will enable us to continue to drive our business forward and further strengthen Lululemon’s leadership team,” McDonald said.

“Celeste has been instrumental in Lululemon’s growth, and from her first day with our company almost 15 years ago, she has made tangible contributions to our culture and our business that have helped us become the Lululemon we are today.”

In September, Lululemon Athletica announced that it was “cautiously optimistic” about the holiday season and forecast current-quarter adjusted profit to fall as much as 20% due to higher marketing expenses.
