Mango launches reusable face masks

Mango has revealed that its latest collection will include a range of reusable face masks for men, women and children. The move builds on the Spanish retailer’s charitable efforts during the coronavirus crisis, including the donation of 2 million face masks to healthcare workers.

The collection comes as several countries have recommended the use of face coverings in public to support wider efforts to tackle Covid-19.

The face masks feature various prints and come in one size for both men and women. Children can choose from three different sizes for a better fit.

Mango said the collection has been manufactured in compliance with the requirements for materials, design and manufacture established by UNE 0065:2020. Compliance with this standard guarantees filtration in excess of 90%, breathability below 60% and up to 10 washes.

Face masks for adults went on sale on the brand’s website this Thursday 28 May, with children's masks launching at a later date.

Mango is also selling two forms of plant-based antibacterial hand gel. The brand said the products feature “citric notes with floral hints, with mild base notes of amber and musk or bergamot with more woody base notes”. The hand sanitisers will be available for purchase on the brand’s online store as well as in selected stores.

The launches come as the fashion brand begins to welcome customers back into its shops in accordance with local regulations. In Spain and France, two of Mango’s largest markets, the firm has reopened more than 234 stores. A further 344 are expected to open their doors by 2 June. The company hopes to have 80% of its global store portfolio back in operation by the end of this month.
