German watch brand Meistersinger, which specializes in single-hand watches, has launched its new Vintago line at Baselworld (March 21-26). The timepiece combines retro design, minimalist time display, and a scrolling date window.

This new watch line from Meistersinger has an unusual date display which fits in perfectly with the dial and is easy to read. A curved opening at 3 o'clock reveals the segmented date display which gives an overview of five days, with a small dot marking the current date.

This audacious and highly contemporary choice contrasts with the retro features of the Vintago. It is available in four versions (opaline white, blue, ivory or black face) and contains many references to the 1960s. These include a functional typography, domed glass over the dial, and a 38-millimeter finely brushed stainless steel case.

The model is driven by an automatic Swiss movement with a 38-hour power reserve and it is water-resistant up to 50 meters. The accompanying watchstrap is made of calfskin.

The Vintago will be available from April at a price of €1,850.
