Jul 26, 2016
Trendy International Group Co., owner of the Miss Sixty jeans brand in Asia, is planning a Chinese initial public offering as soon as the end of next year, sources told Bloomberg.
Launching in 1999, the Guangzhou-based firm seeks a valuation of about $5 billion, said sources. Trendy International has picked a Chinese investment bank to work on the proposed share sale, the sources said.
The funding leap follows a string of Chinese apparel retailers including Modern Avenue Group Co., owner of the Canudilo brand, and Shanghai La Chapelle Fashion Co., who are selling shares for funding to accelerate their expansion.
According to Bloomberg, a total of 25 apparel companies have held IPOs in China and Hong Kong during the past three years. Together, they have raised a combined $2.2 billion, according to Bloomberg data.
No other information regarding the Trendy International IPO has been disclosed.
Trendy International owns women’s brands Five Plus and Ochirly as well as menswear brand Trendiano. In addition to Miss Sixty, it also owns Energie and Killah denim brands.
