Mr Porter links with Glenfiddich and Nicholas Daley

We’re more used to hearing about fashion collabs from Mr Porter but the luxury e-tailer has just unveiled a link-up that suggests it’s nodding towards a wider lifestyle offer.

Glenfiddich x Mr Porter

Next month it’s to launch a first-of-its-kind link-up with scotch whisky brand Glenfiddich. The limited edition of 1,500 bottles worldwide are being “curated by Mr Porter Creative Director Ben Palmer, under the expert guidance of Glenfiddich Malt Master, Brian Kinsman”.

It’s actually a first for both brands, with the whisky maker saying it’s “joining heritage and style as one, culminating in a limited and collectable whisky”.

It features bespoke casing, also designed by Palmer and Kinsman, with the bottle presented in a crisp white embossed casing, lined with a minimalistic monogram featuring the two brand emblems.

The bottles are priced at £300 each so undeniably reflect Mr Porter’s luxury positioning.

Not that Mr Porter is abandoning its more usual strategy of fashion collabs. The Glenfiddich news comes just after it unveiled a 13-piece capsule with young British menswear designer Nicholas Daley.

It takes inspiration from both his Scottish and Jamaican heritage and includes a variety of outerwear and casualwear pieces such as a tie-dye hoodie with The Reggae Klub graphic reflecting the club night his parents used to run in the 1970s. Prices start at £140 and rise to £545.
