N°21 does denim with 7 For All Mankind

7 For All Mankind is dropping a denim capsule collection enhanced by the creative touch of N°21. The premium US jeans brand contacted the designer at the head of the Italian label, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, a relative novice when it comes to denim, and he immediately accepted to take part in this new venture. The result is a capsule collection consisting of a dozen unique unisex items, manufactured in accordance with the US brand’s rigorous sustainability criteria.

Dell’Acqua has played with layering, proportions and unexpected details, working with denim in an unusual way to create a collection featuring raw-edged jeans and shorts layered over trousers, generously cut shirts, hoodies, pussy-bowed blouses, zipped corset tops and mini dresses, and mid-length skirts. And bras, made of course with denim. The palette ranges from N°21’s signature powder pink to the traditional washed-denim blue of 7 For All Mankind.

In a press release, N°21 said that this unique collaboration is also a way to celebrate the Italian label’s 20th anniversary. The collection will be commercialised from December 3 at N°21 stores and select multibrand fashion retailers worldwide. The launch will be supported by a campaign devised by photographer Robin Gallegue and fashion stylist Elodie David-Touboul.

“The contrast between the aesthetic vision of N°21 and the Californian vibe of 7 For All Mankind constitutes in my opinion the strong point of this collection, which combines two different worlds into one perfect harmony,” said Dell’Acqua. “Right from the start, this was the ideal partnership,” said Francesca Toninato, global CEO of 7 For All Mankind. “The combination of N°21’s couture cuts and our denim know-how seemed to us not just natural but captivating too,” she added.
