Amongst apparel, accessories, new collections and catwalks, trade show Columbiamoda also presented the latest in textile technology, asking visitors to go ahead and soak clothes.

Company Modatexco produces clothing including school uniform that benefit from this spill-resistant nanotex technology embedded in the fibres of materials which then ensure the pieces do not change their shape or texture.

Liquids like wine, juice, coffee and even sauces can splash onto garments and the nanoscale hydrophobic molecules prevent the material from soaking up the liquids. So clothes stay dry, unstained and essentially more durable. Washing machine temperature can therefore remain low, reducing the eco-impact.

Sports brands such as Aritex with their new brand ARI offers clothing in their exclusive Coolwind fabric alongside Cotton Incorporated’s moisture transfer science. Moisture from 100% cotton fabrics escape quickly, leaving the skin dry.
