Net-A-Porter launches podcast series in digital content drive

Published
Mar 12, 2020

As part of a drive to produce more digital content, Net-A-Porter has released the first episode of a new weekly podcast series created by its magazine, Porter.

Tracee Ellis Ross opens the podcast series with a look into her most memorable outfits - Net-A-Porter

Starting from 11 March with a new episode every week until 22 April, ‘Pieces of Me: My Life in 7 Garments’ features life reflections from seven female heroes who recount defining moments from their life through the clothing they wore at the time.

The cast includes luminaries such as American actress Tracee Ellis Ross to hijab-wearing model Halima Aden, Irish writer Sinéad Burke and women’s rights activist Zainab Salbi.

“Pieces of Me reminds us that clothes are never just clothes and that the meanings woven through them -- about beauty, power, identity, freedom, and fashion as a force-for-change -- are the stories of women’s lives,” said Sarah Bailey, editor-in-chief of Net-A-Porter’s Porter.

The online luxury shopping destination says more than 6 million women read, watch, browse and shop across its platforms every month. Content curation is just as important as pushing product, and last year Net-A-Porter announced it was changing its content strategy to give videos and podcasts more prominence to lure more digital users to its website and app.

Meanwhile the Porter magazine, which launched in 2014, is transitioning into a bi-annual format starting in spring.

The Pieces of Me podcast series is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio and Stitcher.
