New Lush makeup range to make offline debut this month

Lush is preparing to launch its new organic and ethical makeup range in store with a bang, announcing a dedicated all-day event at its flagship store on Oxford Street and regular monthly releases.

The first items of the range, which strips away unnecessary packaging and supports social projects, have already launched online, seeing  “positive responses”. They include a collection of solid foundations available in 40 different shades and three undertones, and a range of five vegan solid highlighters.

Whilst the company remains tight-lipped about future launches, it said the new makeup products use a range of artisan ingredients from community co-operatives, such as coconut oil from Nias, Indonesia, where a portion of the profits fund social amenities like a local dentist and literacy classes.

Lush co-founder and product inventor, Rowena Bird, commented: “My brief to everybody involved in making these products was to include: shea butter, argan, moringa, and aloe. All four would be lovely, but at least one of them should be in each product because all of these ingredients support women’s co-operatives or education.”

To celebrate the launch, Lush Oxford Street will be hosting a special event on 4 December, where customers will be able to enjoy bespoke and one-to-one consultations and masterclasses. Additionally, the brand will continue with a discussion with Kelechi Okafor, Umber Ghauri and the Lush Team about body positivity, inclusivity and challenging beauty norms at Lush’s Soho Studio.
