New Style.com launches in the UK

Published
Sep 5, 2016

Condé Nast owned fashion news site Style.com has been officially relaunched as a global e-commerce business, offering readers and users a combination of pioneering technology, the most coveted global brands and inspiring content.

From this week, the fashion news site turned e-commerce destination is available exclusively in the UK.

Style.com built on sophisticated artificial intelligence that adapts the shopping experiences to the individual customer. Alongside edits from Style.com, readers of Condé Nast magazines including British Vogue, British GQ and Condé Nast Traveller can now click to instantly buy selected content.

“In the past, reading about fashion was one activity and buying the items was something completely different. Today, readers want to buy at the moment the feel inspired and Style.com will make this desire a reality. Style.com is designed to meet the needs of the modern fashion consumer – corresponding to the way she or he lives, gets information and shops today,” says Jonathan Newhouse, chairman and chief executive of Condé Nast International.

Categories include menswear, womenswear, beauty and grooming, and the brand mix includes some of today’s most important fashion labels such as Chloé, Valentino, Raf Simons, Maison Margiela, Marni, Christopher Kane, Dolce&Gabbana, Rick Owens and Vetements, as well as rising stars such as Jacquemus, Wanda Nylon, Casely-Hayford, Esteban Cortázar, Petar Petrov and Bruta.

“From its very beginning Style.com revolutionised fashion, making runway shows available to everyone. It’s fitting then, that the site’s newest incarnation will take that even further, giving us a glimpse right now of how we’re all going to shop in the future,” added Anna Wintour, artistic director of Condé Nast US and board member of Style.com

According to a previous release, the e-commerce site will be operated as a standalone unit under the joint supervision of Condé Nast’s US and International divisions.

Style.com’s fashion director, Yasmin Sewell, said: “I am really inspired by the opportunity to carve a new space in the market for an extraordinary brand like Style.com. The time for new is now.”

“Our customer has known and trusted Condé Nast for its content for years – now they can shop the images that have inspired us all,” she added.

Style.com is expected to launch in Europe and the US later in the year.
