Next joins Icon Outlet line-up, moves into large space at mall

Next is continuing its commitment to physical stores and its latest opening of a large retail space is in one of the most successful retail channels at present, the outlet sector.

Next/Icon Outlet at The O2

The company has opened a new 4,700 sq ft store at Icon Outlet at The O2 and the new store is one of the largest spaces within the mall.

The new Next outlet store has opened on the lower level alongside Nike and Adidas. It stocks Next’s own label as well as the Lipsy brand the company owns. The offer includes clothing and footwear for women, men and children, plus homewares and the beauty products that are an increasing focus for the wider Next business.

While not a high-end designer name, it should be a strong draw. Despite some ups and down during its long history, Next has been a huge success story in recent years and is respected as one of the best-run companies in UK retail. The group is also now the largest clothing retailer by sales in the country.

A company spokesman said of the opening that this latest store marks a new focus for us post-lockdown.”

Next currently has over 500 stores in the UK and around 200 in Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.

Marion Dillon, Leasing Director for Icon Outlet, said the company is “a highly relevant addition for our strong family customer base and the Next Group and their wider portfolio of brands will significantly enhance our family fashion and homeware offering at Icon Outlet.”

The shopping destination is next door to giant entertainment centre The O2, as well as close to a major transport hub, and has attracted a number of big names since it opened just over two years ago. It currently hosts more than 60 other brands, including recently-opened Lacoste, plus Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, and Gap.
