Nickelodeon and (Red) announced on Wednesday the debut of (Spongebob)Red, a new collaboration designed to raise money for the Global Fund and raise awareness for the fight to end AIDS. The Nickelodeon, (Red) collaboration will kick off with an exclusive (Spongebob)Red collection by Jeremy Scott that will debut as part of the Moschino Resort 2018 collection.

The (Spongebob)Red collection will debut at the Moschino Resort 2018 runway show on June 8 in Los Angeles

The 16-piece collection is comprised of apparel, swim, and handbags for adults and children featuring (Spongebob)Red designs, and will launch at luxury retailers and Moschino stores in November.

The yellow resident of Bikini Bottom has appeared in Moschino collections in the past, as well as Super Mario and Looney Tunes characters. The Moschino Creative Director considers Spongebob to be one of his favorite characters.

“I’m excited to once again be doing a collaboration with Nickelodeon and SpongeBob SquarePants,” said Jeremy Scott. “Not only is he one of my favorite characters, he is beloved all over the world. I am also honored to participate with (Red) as they have done such wonderful work fighting AIDS."

Nickelodeon and Moschino are the latest to partner with (Red), which was founded in 2006, seven years after the first episode of Spongebob Squarepants aired on Nickelodeon. The organization has raised over $465 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and has collaborated with companies and brands such as Apple, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, American Express, Giorgio Armani, MCM, and Gap.

“This exciting creative collaboration between (Red), Nickelodeon, Moschino and Jeremy Scott transforms the iconic and much-loved SpongeBob character into a force to fight AIDS with (Red),” said (Red) CEO Deborah Dugan. “The partnership will not only raise money to fight this preventable, treatable disease, but will also bring SpongeBob’s enormous fan base – young and old - into this critical fight.”

The Moschino Resort 2018 collection debuts on the runway on Thursday, June 8 at Milk Studios in Los Angeles.
