Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 taps sister Sofia for carefree summer collection

Social media personality and model Sofia Richie has teamed up with House of Harlow 1960, the fashion label founded by sister Nicole, for a chic boho collection for the summer, which melds the duo’s millennial and Gen-Z aesthetics.

With pieces being released exclusively on fashion-focused e-commerce platform Revolve over the summer, the collection’s initial offering includes miniskirts, maxi dresses, matching sets, jumpsuits, swimwear and crocheted pieces in hues ranging from dusky pastel pinks and grays to terracotta and luscious shades of mango. Details include floral prints, geometric embroidery, oversized buttons and tie-dye effects.
 
Prices for the collection range from $68 for swimwear separates to $258 for a floral maxi dress.

According to an interview given by Sofia and Nicole Richie to Vogue, the idea for the collaboration arose from the time the sisters spent together during more than a year of quarantine.
 
“In between watching Netflix and eating, we started talking about our goals for the future, and wanting to create together,” explained Nicole.
 
“I watched Nicole build up House of Harlow to where it is today, and I admire her for that,” added Sofia. “I wouldn’t be interested in fashion if it wasn’t for her. I’ve learned so much from her.”
 
Originally founded as a costume jewelry line in 2008, House of Harlow 1960 quickly evolved into a fully fledged fashion brand, gaining a reputation for vintage-inspired boho styles channeling a distinctly Californian vibe. Prior to launching the label, 39-year-old founder and creative director Nicole Richie had already established herself as a fashion icon through her turn as a reality TV star and socialite in the mid-noughties.
 
In the meantime, 22-year-old Sofia Richie has been busy carving out her own niche as a fashion influencer and model. Currently boasting some 6.6 million followers on Instagram, Sofia has participated in campaigns for brands including Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors.
 
Pieces from the House of Harlow 1960 x Sofia Richie collection will drop every month from May to July.
