Nike Vision debuts Kevin Durant sunglasses

Sports eyewear brand Nike Vision has announced the launch of the latest iteration of its collaboration with two-time NBA Finals MVP back-to-back World Champion Kevin Durant, in the form of the 2018 KD Eyewear Collection, which features the line’s first ever sunglasses.

 
The collection is made up of a total of six new styles: four optical frames and two pairs of sunglasses.

The debut sunglasses offering features the Nike KD Flicker and the Nike KD Trace, the designs of which are based on Durant’s on-court movements. Both styles, which provide 100% UVA and UVB protection, are decorated with Durant’s signature laser-etched onto the metal core wire, a “KD” logo plaque and the Nike Swoosh logo.

The new acetate optical frames include the Nike KD 28, the Nike KD 74, the Nike KD 88 and the Nike KD 929, named after the age at which Durant won his first NBA Championship, his 7’44” wingspan, the year of his birth and the date of his birthday, respectively.
 
Like the two sun styles, the designs of the Nike KD 28 and the Nike KD 74 are based on Durant’s motions on the basketball court and feature a free-form, heat map pattern laser-etched onto the frames’ core wire at the temples. The Nike KD 88 and the Nike KD 929 are designed for durability and feature flexible spring hinges.
 
Nike Vision’s 2018 KD Eyewear Collection is available for purchase now on the Nike e-commerce platform, as well as in select retailers and optical specialists worldwide.
