OpenMyMed emerging design competition open for registration
La Maison Méditerranéennes de Métiers de la Mode (MMMM) has kicked off the eighth edition of its OpenMyMed prize. Young and emerging designers from the Mediterranean are encouraged to apply until October 31 with registrations opening on July 7.

Next November, both the public and a jury will vote for their favourite designer. This season, the jury will again be made up of industry professionals including Sidney Toledano, president and CEO of Christian Dior Couture; Sophie Delafontaine, creative director of Longchamp; and French designer Jacquemus.
The Marseille-based incubator will pick out 20 laureates, who will each take part in a year-long program, covering themes such as international development and brand identity. The program is worth some 30,000 euros for each participant.
The 2017 edition of the competition was taken out by Amine Bendriouich (Morocco), Artem Atelier (Spain), Dioralop (Croatia), Ece Özalp (Turkey), Eliran Nargassi (Israel), Nour Najem (Lebanon), Hannah (Israel), Okhtein (Egypt), Petja Zorec (Slovenia) -- making up the countries representing the Mediterranean basin. And for the brands hailing from Marseille, the winners were Les Candides Joaillerie Sauvage, Il Etait Un Fil, Les Méduses Vertes, Massalia, My Jeweler is W, No Season Atelier, Noa-Kis and Noëlle Praticci-Roux.
The OpenMyMed prize commenced in 2010.
