Perry Ellis International names David Scheiner the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board

Perry Ellis on Wednesday announced the election of J. David Scheiner as Non-Executive Chairman, succeeding George Feldenkreis, who was terminated from his position as Executive Chairman.
 

The executive changes are part of a multi-year leadership succession planning process and effective immediately.

Feldenkreis has led Perry Ellis international since 1999, when it was acquired by his company, Supreme International, which was founded in 1961. Though Feldenkreis has been terminated from his role, he remains a member of the Board of Directors. In addition, Oscar Feldenkreis will remain as CEO.

Non-Executive Chairman Scheiner is a retail veteran with over 35 years of experience serving in senior roles at major retailers, including Macy’s Florida/Puerto Rico, where he served as President and COO and retired in 2009.
 
Scheiner was named to the Perry Ellis Board in June 2014 and currently serves as a consultant to retail and wholesale companies, investment banks, and private equity companies investing in the consumer retail industry.
