Première Vision Paris attracts over 23,000 visitors at first July edition

For the first time, Parisian textile and clothing trade show Première Vision Paris held its autumn/ winter edition from July 5 to 7, as opposed to September, when it had previously held it. The earlier dates this year was due to the organiser’s desire to place the trade show earlier in the calendar and in relation to other fairs. The decision appears to have resonated with visitors, which totalled 23,377 this edition, representing a 10% increase compared to its February edition and a 37% increase compared to its edition in September, 2021.

The turnout was a success for this edition of notable size but, with its exhibitor total of 1,200, it was smaller than previous events. In comparison, the trade show’s September 2019 edition brought together more than 2,000 exhibitors and attracted 56,154 visitors. The July event faced disruptions caused by a transport strike during the last two days of the event and ongoing travel restrictions for travellers from Asia.

That did not stop Première Vision Paris from welcoming 69% of its visitors from international locations. The organisers noted the return of American and South Korean trade visitors, who ranked 10th and 15th, respectively, in the ranking of foreign delegations.

The visitors came to reinforce a foreign presence at the fair, mainly from Europe, for an exhibitor selection that was no less diverse. Italy and France represented the main groups of exhibitors, ahead of the UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Southern European countries, Japan, South Korea, and India.

“The creativity of the offer, the visitor dynamics, the return of distant foreign markets, the challenge of sustainability, and the success of our new services are all strong and encouraging markers to support activity despite the context we all know about,” said the event’s general manager Gilles Lasbordes.

Première Vision will hold its New York edition from July 19 to 20 which will be followed by Première Vision Sport which will run in Portland from August 10 to 11. Première Vision Blossom, which is dedicated to luxury brands’ pre-collections, will return to Paris on December 14 and 15. In the meantime, Première Vision Shenzen will run in China from October 17 to 19.
