Radley London opens biggest UK store with new Braintree Village Townhouse

Radley London is continuing the elevation of its retail store estate with the reopening this Thursday of its site in Braintree Village. It’s been redesigned and becomes the brand’s second new concept store.

Created using responsibly sourced materials, the store design “brings elements of the refined leathers, branded hardware, and modern timeless style” of its bags to a physical commerce space. 

It’s also the largest UK store for Radley London “and is the next step in an elevation journey that began in 2019”.

The move to a new generation of stores allows the label to showcase more of its collection with the company saying its wants its physical spaces to “give our customers the ultimate Radley London experience”.

That includes not only the bags but the other collections that include new-in coats, knitwear, sleepwear, footwear, diaries, compact mirrors, foldable totes, and gifting items. 

The store also features the Radley Responsible collection, created from sustainable materials such as polyester made from recycled plastic bottles, BCI-accredited cotton, and water-based PU. 

Chief Product Officer Jackie Hay said: “With our new generation of ‘Townhouse’ stores, we’re celebrating both our brand heritage and what’s to come in the future. The design is inspired by our HQ in London’s Mayfair, overlooking Green Park, in a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse – we have captured the same original features, and decorated our new stores in the same sumptuous shades of signature pink, gold and claret. 

“We want to welcome every visitor into a calming, feminine space where they can discover our latest designs surrounded by the scent of the finest leathers mingled with our rose-scented diffusers. Where possible everything in-store down to fixtures and fittings has been responsibly sourced as part of our commitment to our ESG strategy.”
