Available online at Cefinn.com, Net-a-Porter.com and Selfridges.com, as well as in-store at Selfridges in London, Manchester and Birmingham, the collection focuses on design-led, go-to day wear for busy women.

Office-appropriate midi dresses give the collection a feminine feel, while tailored culottes are paired with funnel neck tops for a more modern look. The collection also includes boxy jackets, cocoon coats and pencil skirts.

In total 36 pieces make up the first Spring Summer collection, all designed to be dressed down or up and made to last.

Samantha Cameron, who is the wife of former PM David Cameron, told the Sunday Times she began working on her line while she was at 10 Downing Street. She said she researched it for about three years, and took “secret” pattern cutting and sewing lessons in the evenings.

“I wanted to design a collection that had a very modern fashion edge but was easy to wear, style and look after, (the majority of the collection is washable), I want to make it simple for women to feel fashionable, feminine and confident,” says Samantha Cameron on the Cefinn website.

“As a busy working mother, partner and professional creative I was frustrated by not being able to find contemporary priced, high quality, go-to fashion staples to take me through breakfast with the family and a day in the office followed by an evening out with my friends.”

This is not the first time Samantha Cameron gets involved in the fashion industry She worked as creative director for British luxury leather goods brand Smythson from 1997 to 2010 and was named one of the best dressed women in the world by Vanity Fair in 2015.

She is also an ambassador for the British Fashion Council and sits on the judging panel of the Vogue Fashion Fund.

Her inaugural collection costs from £110 to £390.
