Micolet has entered the French market for women's second-hand, or 'pre-loved', clothing, currently dominated by VideDressing and Vestiaire Collective. The Spanish website sells second-hand ready-to-wear apparel and accessories at prices discounted by up to 80%.

Micolet was first launched in Spain in 2015 by Aritza Loroño and Jose María del Moral. It takes full charge of the items' purchasing and resale process, and makes a profit via a 25% commission charged to customers.

The Bilbao-based company claims a community of 400,000 users, a catalogue to which 1,000 articles are added every day and a 20% growth on a monthly basis. On the strength of these figures, Micolet has chosen France for its first foray into foreign markets.

For the time being, French fashionistas are only able to buy clothes, and only later they will be able to put their own up for sale too. Micolet's range includes a selection of brands from fast-fashion to high-end and accessible luxury labels (Zara, Bershka, Maje, Sandro, Longchamp or Marc Jacobs).

This is the first step in Micolet's efforts outside Spain, and by 2018 the plan is to expand also into Germany, Belgium, Italy and the UK. The Spanish e-tailer is forecasting a revenue of €1.5 million in 2017, a figure it expects to double next year.
