Streetwear icon Patrick Matamoros launches new brand, Saint Luis

Published

After finding success among the celebrity crowd with his Chapel line, Patrick Matamoros will launch a new streetwear brand, Saint Luis. The line will be available online starting June 23.

Named for both Matamoros’ son and grandfather, Saint Luis will sell the vintage t-shirts that made the designer famous, but at a lower price point. The Chapel line was known for selling shirts for as much as $1,000, with clients including musicians and celebrities like Justin Bieber, Kylie Jenner, Frank Ocean and Rihanna.

Saint Luis shirts are expected to retail for $250 to $500, but will still remain somewhat exclusive in keeping with Matamoros’ model for Chapel. His designs for Chapel were available at appointment-only pop-up shops, staged in major cities like New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Saint Luis will be more readily available through an e-commerce platform, however shoppers will need to obtain a password to access the site. Matamoros will personally hand out passwords in order to ensure the right people are able to buy the shirts.

Those who don’t get their hands on a password will still be able to find some pieces from the Saint Luis line at stores such as Maxfield, Maryam Nassir Zadeh and Selfridges
