Supergroup recruits former Calvin Klein director

Hans Schmitt, who left his position of president of Warnaco in Europe, the Middle East and Africa last year for a consultancy job at Blue Dynamic Limited, is soon to be joining SuperGroup.

Julian Dunkerton, chief executive office at Supergroup has called on Schmitt’s industry expertise and market knowledge to complete his top management team. According to the site Retail Week, Hans Schmitt will be joining the group as managing director of international and wholesale.

Prior to his two-year stint at Warnaco Europe, Schmitt gained invaluable experience at Hugo Boss. Starting there in 1997 as an intern, he climbed the ranks in Asia then in the UK until he became senior vice president of Hugo Boss in the EMEA region, a position which he left in July 2010.

At SuperGroup he has been tasked with developing SuperDry’s present on an international scale. Top management at the brand has recently evoked desires of pushing the brand in Germany, China and Russia.
