In his new role, Belhaq will be responsible for Supernova’s product expansion strategies for its existing brands, especially Instagram A-beauty favourite Sand & Sky. He will also be tasked with developing new brands at the company in order to explore new growth opportunities.

He will report to the group’s co-founders Emily Hamilton and Alex Ostrowski.

Belhaq comes to Supernova from Burberry Cosmetics, which he joined in February 2018, a few months after Coty acquired the British fashion brand’s beauty licence. In his role as international marketing director, he was in charge of the cosmetics line’s global marketing strategy and was also responsible for redefining its positioning and driving its three-year innovation plan.

Prior to this, the graduate of Paris’ prestigious Sciences Po school served as international group manager for Dolce & Gabbana makeup at Shiseido, where he worked on the relaunch of the brand’s cosmetics offering.

Belhaq’s previous experience also includes stints at L’Oréal, Guerlain and Parfums Christian Dior.

“I’m very excited to join this one of a kind beauty company,” he told FashionNetwork.com. “I’m thrilled about the idea of creating new brands in a unique dynamic way and as part of a modern and visionary structure that represents the very essence of innovation and the future of beauty.”

With a brand portfolio that includes Sand & Sky, BodyBoss, Coco & Eve and SkinnyMint, Supernova is a fast-growing health and beauty group which, along with its global HQ in Singapore, also operates offices in Melbourne, London, New Deli and Los Angeles.

Founded in 2013, the company uses its social channels to develop strong communities around its brands, connecting with over 12 million women on social media every week through its global marketing reach.

Its products, which target “a new generation of women” with their high quality and ingredient transparency, are distributed internationally by leading beauty retailers, as well as online.

“We are very excited to have [Belhaq] on board to further strengthen our current brands in the beauty space,” commented Ostrowski. “Our Australian Beauty brand Sand & Sky as well as our Balanese Inspired brand Coco & Eve have had very successful launches of new product ranges this year and a fully-packed launch schedule for 2020 and beyond.”

Belhaq’s appointment is effective January 2020.
