The Kooples in eyewear debut via Retrosuperfuture deal

Published
May 10, 2021

French premium fashion retailer The Kooples has entered the eyewear segment for the first time in a deal with Italy’s Retrosuperfuture.

The Kooples/Retrosuperfuture

It has launched its debut range in time for the onset of the summer season saying it’s a “unique” offer that features “the expertise and avant-garde design of Retrosuperfuture and the rock 'n' roll spirit of the Kooples”.

The line-up include four models in various colourways and finishes, with “four different vibes” inspired by “the world of music” and made from acetate in Italy.

The models include Electro, Blues, Rockabilly and Chill Out with each being unisex.

It's interesting that the Kooples is promoting its eyewear partner’s name heavily in the marketing of the glasses and this clearly helps to differentiate this launch from being just another own-brand sunglasses line, also adding to the ‘cool factor’ that’s a crucial element of the brand’s appeal.

The offer is available in a selection of the brand’s stores and, importantly, also on its website.

The company has been working hard to boost its online sales in recent periods. Company president Romain Guinier told Fashionnetwork.com last year that the company has heavily focused on its online operations and that these were expanding rapidly.
