Thought Clothing links with Traid for re-use drive

Sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand Thought Clothing has formed a new and permanent partnership with Traid, a charity working to stop clothes from being thrown away.

As both parties are committed to developing a more circular, sustainable future for the fashion industry, “the partnership aims to open thought-provoking conversations around recycling and repurposing fashion and consumer goods, while providing simple and helpful solutions for customers”, they said in a joint statement. 

From 28 September, a free returns label will be included with every Thought Clothing online order, enabling and encouraging customers to send to Traid pre-owned clothes to be re-purposed. 

“The initiative will give existing clothes a new lease of life and offers a positive way for customers to be able to pass on their clothing when they have finished with it”, Thought added. 

In a collective bid to work towards their circular business model, an accompanying ‘Recycle, Repurpose, Reimagine’ campaign will offer “positive ideas and solutions for customers to help reduce waste, tackle environmental issues and live a more considered lifestyle.” 

Rachel Kelly, Thought Clothing co-founder and creative director said: “A meaningful partnership with Traid has long been on our wish list. We’re delighted to be working with such a brilliant and innovative organisation who shares our commitment in improving environmental impacts. Adding this service for our customers is an important step in our continual improvement programme to remain an innovator in the sustainable space”.

Since launching in 1999, the Traid charity has diverted over 170 million garments from landfill by collecting, reusing and reselling them.
