UK Lingerie firm Eveden sold to Japan’s Wacoal

Published
Apr 1, 2012

Japan’s Wacoal announced on March 30th through its US subsidiary, Wacoal America, that it has entered into an agreement with Eveden Group to acquire the UK based lingerie and swimwear group for 148 million pounds. Eveden is the parent company behind brands such as Freya, Goddess, Fauve and also French label Huit, which the British group acquired in April 2010.

Wacoal explained that the acquisition will accelerate its international development, an important focus for the group given that “the Japanese market is becoming more difficult nowadays because of its ageing population and low birth rate.” Eveden has a customer base of over 5,000 retailers across more than 50 countries.
