Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield puts Barbara Somogyiova in charge of European leasing

The property group has tapped Neinver exec Barbara Somogyiova for its new head of European leasing. Somogyiova will be tasked with strengthening communication between the group's international leasing teams.

Somogyiova has led European leasing since September 2017 for Neinver, a Spanish group specialised in outlets management. Prior to this, Somogyiova served in the same role at Italian group Percassi for four years, following a five-year stint overseeing international development at the Lyst Fashion Group. She has also worked at Ogilvy, Barilla and Retail Group Spa.

At Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, her new responsibilities include transcontinental management of key accounts; strengthening connections between teams; bolstering the commercial mix at the various shopping centres, and the faciliation of the expansion of business activities through the platform created by the Unibail-Rodamco and Westfield merger.

The appointment comes just after the company names Scott Parsons, former retail portfolio director of the Land Securities Group, to the role of managing director for the UK and Italy.
