Urban Outfitters has tapped Juicy Couture for collaboration

Published

Urban Outfitters has unveiled a new partnership with Juicy Couture. The collaborative collection will seeupdated versions of Juicy Couture’s signature velour tracksuits and logo t-shirts. R&B songstress Tinashe will be the face of the collection.

In a press release, the brand noted, “Urban Outfitters has found great success in our collaborations with brands that are embracing the nostalgia factor. The Juicy Couture for Urban Outfitters collection allows us to curate the iconic tracksuit style of the early aughts for today’s customer and we think Tinashe is the perfect face to introduce the collection to a new generation.”

The collection will consist of fourteen pieces, including bedazzled sweatshirts, crop tops, full tracksuits, t-shirts, and intimates. Prices for the collection will sit between $39 and $199. The collection will be released in Urban Outfitters locations and on Urban Outfitter's e-commerce platform on February 13th.

Petra Collins, who has worked with Nordstrom, Gucci, Pat McGrath, and Calvin Klein in the past, was behind the lens on the campaign.

Urban Outfitters has release several nostalgic collections over the past year, like November's release of a collection with Nautica. Calvin Klein, Fila, and Reebok have also been tapped for retro-influencer capsule collections.

Juicy Couture, an athleisure brand that came to prominence in the early noughties, has been brought in by several retailers as of late for collaborative efforts. Topshop released a limited-edition tracksuit with Juicy Couture in earlier January. Juicy Couture was one of eighteen brands that Vetements tapped for its spring/Summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection. That partnership saw Juicy Couture’s signature use of terry-cloth translated into evening gowns.
