Vente-Privée rebrands under Veepee

Online flash sale leader Vente-Privée is joining all of its six international banners under a new name, Veepee, as it unifies the brand across all 14 countries where it operates.

Le logo de Veepee reste fidèle à celui de Vente-Privée - Vente-Privée

"The site is continuing its development strategy in Europe and has launched a global brand in all of its markets,” explained the online portal.

“During the first phase of transition in Europe, we will show our new brand progressively. All functionalities will remain the same and the shopping experience will not change. Later in the year, the site's design will evolve to offer the most fluid experience possible. We’re starting with Europe and then we’ll finalise the French version of our pages. At that time, we’ll get back to you with further information."

The filing of the Veepee trademark was registered with the National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI) on May 3, 2017 for France, and then in November internationally. Meanwhile, the full name, "Veepee Wowing Your Days", was filed at the end of 2018. While the name changes, the pink butterfly logo that made Vente-Privée known, and which has gradually spread to foreign portals bought back by the company, remains the same.

During the course of its international development and acquisitions, Vente-Privée gradually found itself operating under the name Privalia (acquired in 2016) in the Spanish, Italian, Brazilian and Mexican markets, while in the Benelux, it operated as Vente-Exclusive (acquired in 2015), Designers & Friends (taken over in 2016) in Denmark, Eboutic in Switzerland (which the portal took a majority stake of in 2016) and finally Zlote Wyprzedaze in Poland.

“For the Spanish and Italians, pronouncing Vente-Privée is not very complicated," CEO Jacques-Antoine Granjon told our Spanish colleagues, noting that the task is more difficult for Germans and Europeans in the North.

"Veepee is a very international name and this unification will help people traveling from one country to another to buy on our platform without having to change brands."

With more than 6,000 employees, Vente-Privée announced sales of € 3.3 billion for its 2017 fiscal year. In 2018, sales are expected to reach $3.7 billion, half of which will be generated internationally.

The French portal currently has more than 72 million members in fourteen markets. Besides in France, you can find the brand in Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Benelux, Switzerland, Denmark and Poland, but also Brazil and Mexico.
