US lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is set to open its first flagship store in Peru the first half of 2019. The store will be the brand’s first full line location in South America.

Victoria’s Secret entered the Peruvian market in 2017 with a first store occupying 50 square meters at the Jockey Plaza shopping mall in Lima, and this week, executives of the shopping centre told FashionNetwork.com that the brand will be opening an 800-square-meter space on the first floor of the scheme in 2019. The new shop will replace the label’s existing one with a full range concept showcasing the Victoria’s Secret, Pink, beauty and accessories collections.

The brand, which has three stores in the country, is expanding in the Latin American market in partnership with local company Grupo David, which also manages its operations in Colombia, Central America and Panama. In the latter, the group opened the first full range Victoria’s Secret space in Central America this year.

Victoria’s Secret, owned by L Brands, signed this week its first eyewear license with Marcolin, less than a week since its owner announced the sale of its other lingerie business, La Senza.

According to L Brands’ latest financial accounts, the year ended 2 December 2018 saw a 9.9% rise in global sales, up from $9.07bn in 2017 to $9.98bn this year. Sales grew by 26% in November, reaching $1.5bn.
