Streetwear brand XLARGE has brought in legendary artist Yayoi Kusama for an apparel and accessories collection.

Yayoi Kusama's print on a PORTER bag - XLARGE

Kusama is known for her work ranging from performance to the visual replete with polka dots in strong psychedelic colors. The XLARGE collection will be more understated, primarily featuring bits of Kusama prints on black t-shirts, hoodies, and bags. The polka-dot print used in this collection is a nod to her famous pumpkin sculptures, now currently on display in Washington DC at the Hirshhorn Museum. The artist has also cross-collaborated with PORTER bags and a G-Shock watch for the capusle collection. Kusama has worked with XLARGE in the past, releasing two printed tote bags for the online retailer in 2008.

Kusama isn’t new to the apparel world. The designer is a favorite of many a fashion house, having collaborated on collections for Louis Vuitton and Uniqlo.

Yayoi Kusama is gearing up for a big year. The Japanese artist will also be opening her famous Infinity Mirrors installation at the Hirshhorn Museum in February, which will then travel to Seattle, Toronto, and Cleveland.

The entire Yayoi Kusama x XLARGE collection will be available for purchase on February 9th, 2017.
